University *Sigh*

Anyways, I'm posting this partly as a response to n0n4m3's new post and partly because I just finished my future decisions unit for my online career/life manage course. I'm not worried about anything else yet, but university is really worrying me. For one, which one am I going to go to? That depends on my grades, but the thought of being stuff in Alberta for any longer than I have to really sucks. Then there is the problem of how I'm going to pay for it. If I stay in Calgary, I can probably get out of university debt free, a HUGE luxury. But if I go anywhere else, it'll probably take around $50,000 over 4 years. That is a LOT of money. Where in hell am I going to come up with that much money? I figured if I keep going at this job and do the RESP thing. I can have around $8,000 by the start of university. But seriously, where am I going to come with $40,000?! This is really a huge problem. In my education plan that I had to do for the course, I said that I wanted to go to university of Calgary so I can be debt free, and that's probably what will really happen. Cause I really don't have enough money to do anything else. Of course, I could just borrow money from the bank and then eventually declare bankruptcy, but needless to say, that's horrible. So anyways, anyone got a get rich quick and easy idea, tell me quick!!!

Oh, and another thing, BQ, we should get pic or banner or something, for the blog. Any ideas??? Oh, and it seems that our title is too long, since we only refer to it as OBESE, how bout we just go the KFC route???

That's it for now folks, sorry there's no videos. But you know, you could just youtube it up yourself, it's really easy...ya lazy bums...

First Post of May, Woot

Wow, about a third of the way into the month and still not a single post, if this keeps up, it’ll be our lowest posting month since last November…but never fear, karlkarlson is here…

So let’s start off with a bit of entertainment news, which I don’t normally do. But this is so juicy that I just had to post it: Paris Hilton is going to jail for 45 days! Let me be the millionth person to say, “hahahahaha”. This is just too funny. And Reuters reported that there are petitions arguing for her to serve the sentence regardless of appeal. Of course, my first reaction to this news was: “Where do I sign?!” Unfortunately, I was too lazy to find it, but if anyone does find it, let me know.

OK, we just finished off Romeo and Juliet, and some of the class actually think that a)Romeo’s love for Juliet is real, and b)Romeo has changed during the play. That is just wrong for so many reasons. First of all, how is Romeo’s love real? The only real things he says about her is how hot she is, talk about judging a book by its cover. I’m telling you, anyone who falls in love in life 2 hours cannot be experiencing true love. Second of all, how the hell has he changed, sure he takes the poison as a sacrifice, but he probably read it in a book and thought it’d be cool to be together in the afterlife. And what is the difference between the love for Rosaline and Juliet? The only reason he got over Rosaline is cause she didn’t like him back, it’s like he’s on the rebound. Another fact that is not mentioned enough is the fact that Romeo suicides by taking a poison that kills him quickly and painlessly, but Juliet has to stab herself with a dagger! You tell which one hurts the most. By the way, my friends and I were discussing how Romeo is pretty much a criminal, here are the illegal things he does: trespassing(capulet party), stalking(how did he know where Juliet’s room was?), spying, trespassing again(capulet garden), murder(tybalt), statutory rape(Juliet is 13), illegal drug dealing(poison was illegal to sell or buy), violating terms of sentence by coming back to Verona, trespasses AGAIN(capulet tomb), tomb raidng, murder AGAIN, and finally suicides…not such a hero after all, eh.

Now onto my regular sports garbage, before I go on, for the eastern conference finals, I have Ottawa in 6 games, anyways, the western conference final is finally upon us. Since I picked the Ducks to go all the way, I have to pick them against Detroit. Ok, I was a bit shocked that the wings won the last round to be honest. But whatever, I still say they don’t have enough to beat the ducks, especially since Giggy is on a roll now (he has something like a .952 save percentage!!!). Pronger and Niedermeyer are just too good for them, and Mathieu Schneider hurt too. I really don’t think Detroit can win. I’m not 100% sure the Ducks can win game 7 in mo-town, so I guess I say Ducks in 6 too.

Rockets lost, so that sucked balls. (Yeah, I do watch them cause of Yao Ming, but there’s no shame in that, and I want all of you Chinese Yao haters to know that you’re just being a banana by haterizing on him.) I could see this series wasn’t going to go well judging by the fact that the Rockets could only win by a close margin in Houston by loose by so much on the road. So now, someone has to go. Let’s face it, with everyone healthy, this is as good as the Rockets are gonna get with these players. So either t-mac or yao has to be traded to make the team more balanced, or team owner les Alexander will have to open the piggy bank.

Contrary to popular belief, Phoenix CAN beat Spurs in a 7 game series, or at least that’s what I think. The spurs basically have 3 offensive weapons to hurt you and other wise grind it out, but the suns can counter that almost perfectly: kurt Thomas on tim Duncan, raja bell on manu ginobli, shawn marion on tony parker. If all three spurs are taken out, san Antonio has no chance.

I don’t get why the nba doesn't do like the nhl and reseed ppl, now they have the four best teams left meet in the conferences semis: Detroit-chicago, phoenix-san Antonio. I think it’s pretty save to say that the winners of this match will roll over the winners of cavs-nets and utah-gstate. But you look at the nhl, I think it’s pretty safe to say that sens, sabers, wings, and ducks are at least 4 of the top six teams in the league.

Finally, I’ll have my nba predictions: cavs in 5, pistons in 6, gstate in 6, and phoenix in 7.

Well, that's it for now.

Exam Over!!!

Stupid lazy boyang...you do realized that you've went from daily post to bi-weekly post to weekly post to bi-monthly post in a span of less than 3 months, right? And don't say you're studying for exams, cause I know you're not.

Anyways, I'm already done my exams, so I have a whole week of nothing coming up. I had a social study exam last Friday, and a math exam today. They were both pretty easy, except for these 2 questions.

Social: In Canada, what is the main difference between rights and freedoms?

a.rights can be restricted by the government
b.freedoms can be restricted by the government
c.rights are entrenched in the constitution
d.freedoms are entrenched in the constitution

and

Math: If x and y are the 2 acute angles of a right angle triangle, write y as a function of x. (and I don't remember the choices for this one)

So, overall, the tests here in Calgary are much easier than the ones in Ottawa. (They count for more though: 30% of the final) And I only have 4 exams this whole year. (there is no French exams)

Hillary Clinton annouce that she's going to run for president...so that was the worst kept secret of the century, it was kind of obvious since she became a senator.

Her only real comp in the Democratic camp is Barack Obama. They both got a lot of star power, but I'd say Clinton's support from the female and minority demographic gives her the edge. Here's hoping that the next american president is a leftist...

---

It was championship weekend for the NFL, didn't bother watching the Saints-Bears game, but I couldn't stay away from the Colts-Pats game. After the first quarter, it looked like we were gonna see this again,

but after a wild third, it look like the colts were finally gonna win. Now, I have to admit, I had my doubts, such as when Reggie Wayne tripped over himself...twice. But the Colts finally made it.(can't find any video recap, so go find your own...) So trust me on this guys, the Colts are going to win the superbowl!!! They prove the haters wrong, and their offense is just too good for the Bears' d outside of chicago. And I don't care how many people say great defense wins championships(I'll save my Phoenix suns rant for the NBA playoffs), the Colts and Manning are just too confident after beating the Pats to loose to the Bears. Granted, their special team is horrid and the punt return coverage just sucks, but when you have guys like
Dallas Clark effective and Manning throwing them the ball, you can't loose.

Note: I couldn't find any good videos, but chances are, you didn't finish that post to read this...

Random Ramblings

I just love alliterations...
Anyways, as the title suggest, I don't really have a topic for today. But It's been a week, so we should have a new blog.

There's a new thing to the side. It's the total cost of the war in iraq for americans so far. Now, some may use this as a weapon to criticize President Bush. But they're just being pessimestic. You have to think like this: if america can waste so much money, that must mean that the economy is booming, and that must mean George Bush is the best president ever!!!

I was at this site called new7wonders.com (it's in the places box) You get to vote for you favorite 7...constructs I guess...to be named the 7 wonders of the world. Don't know why anyone would waste their time on this, but I did.

I heard yesterday that David Beckham is leaving Real Madrid for the LA Galaxy next season...he's getting around 250 million pounds over the course of 5 years. Hmmm, I wonder why he decided to leave. Anyways, the weird thing is, MLS is only paying 400, 000 a year. Most of the salary is being paid by Addidas and AEG(anshurtz entertainment group or something.)

Oh, and Toronto got its own Mls team a few weeks ago, so thats EXCITING...

You've sat through that, I guess you deserve some videos.

First we have the talented Donald Rumsfeld.

Next up is this lame Lord of the Rings parody.

And I'll finish it off with a clip of play-doh Happy Tree Friends. But seriously, I wouldn't watch this if I were you.
